A characteristic of Arne Jacobsen's work was that everything superfluous was cut away. The simplicity and wholeness in the expression was his goal. He found, therefore, also the idea of a completely new type of faucet interesting and offered to continue working on the design of the fixture.

As the need for accessories to the Central Bank reported, wanted, Arne Jacobsen accessories in style suited to the fixture, so the Interior emerged as a whole. With this began a fruitful collaboration between designer and manufacturer.
After Arne Jacobsen's death continued VOLA a/s collaboration with Teit Weylandt, who at the time worked for Arne Jacobsen. Later began a collaboration with Carsten Overgaard Aarhus Arkitekterne a/s for further development of the VOLA series
